Here are a few important points to consider from a technical perspective:

• The amount of background will be determined by the screen resolution of the users’ computer and will vary for each person. 
• The background will extend to the size of the window.
• In this example the background is black.  The color bars at the top are for reference.
• According to January 2010 statistics, over 90% of users have a resolution greater than or equal to 1024x768.
• The trend should continue to see more users with higher resolutions.
